Maintenance and Cleaning
- Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any work on the power tool.
- To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch power tools.
- Replace a damaged dust protection cap immediately. It is recommended that you have use an after-sales service for this.
Lubricating the Power Tool (see figure D)
The power tool is lubricated with grease and is ready for immediate use.
The lubricating grease must be changed every time the carbon brushes are replaced and may only be changed during maintenance carried out by an after-sales service centre authorised to work with Bosch power tools.
The lubricating grease specified by Bosch must be used.
If you do not use Bosch lubricating grease or improper maintenance is carried out on your power tool, your warranty may be compromised.
If, however, under certain circumstances, you need to change the lubricating grease yourself, proceed as follows:
- Switch the power tool on to warm up for a few minutes. Switch the power tool off and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket.
- Open the lubricating grease cover (3) with a Bosch hook spanner (8) (not supplied).
The old lubricating grease must be removed before new lubricating grease is poured in.
- Remove the old lubricating grease and fill with approx. 30 g (1 oz) of new lubricating grease.
Only fill with the specified amount of lubricating grease to ensure that the power tool can be used safely and without causing damage. - Put the lubricating grease cover (3) back on and carefully retighten it with a Bosch hook spanner (8).
